Substance Highlights

Triisopropanolamine

Triisopropanolamine is an industrial chemical used in personal care and manufacturing products. It is not psychoactive but may indicate contaminated drug manufacturing processes.

Mannitol

Mannitol is a pharmaceutical sugar alcohol commonly used as a cutting agent in illicit drugs. It acts as a diuretic and may cause electrolyte imbalances, dehydration, and, in rare cases, anaphylaxis when injected.

Alprazolam

Alprazolam (brand name Xanax) is a benzodiazepine typically prescribed for anxiety or panic disorders. When combined with other drugs, especially fentanyl, or with alcohol, it carries a high risk of fatal overdose, severe respiratory depression, and unpredictable intoxication.

Key Findings

  • Fentanyl and medetomidine detections decreased during this reporting period, while cocaine, methamphetamine, and xylazine detections increased.
  • The report notes these differences are likely influenced by the relatively small sample size and should not necessarily be interpreted as broader trends.
  • The sample size for March 2026 was significantly smaller than previous months, limiting the strength of month-to-month comparisons.
