ECASU Community Awareness Partnerships

FUNDING STATUS: CURRENTLY CLOSED

The ECASU Community Awareness Partnerships provide technical assistance to community-based, grassroots, advocacy, faith-based organizations, community coalitions, community leaders, and treatment providers (collectively referred to as Partners) to develop and carry out communications campaigns to understand, engage, and address the needs of local communities in Delaware impacted by opioid use disorder/stimulant use disorder (OUD/STUD).

DSAMH is developing a range of community education/awareness campaign strategies that will be accessible to Partners, focusing on opioid and stimulant use. DSAMH wishes to develop partnerships to refine and advance these campaigns. The focus areas are listed below – review the solicitation for additional information on focus areas and project activities:

  • Reduced stigma toward persons with OUD/STUD
  • Promoting awareness of and access to OUD/STUD treatment and recovery services
  • Reducing stigma toward medications for opioid use disorders, such as methadone and buprenorphine
  • Promoting access to naloxone/Narcan
  • Increasing awareness and knowledge of existing resources among local communities

While DSAMH will not provide direct funding to Partners, DSAMH will directly purchase and provide in-kind materials to support implementation of the project and provide technical assistance to Partners for the design and implementation of the campaign activities. Prior Partners awarded under HEAP are eligible to apply.

Grant writing-related resources are available on DSAMH’s ATRC Website, which can be accessed here via the Resource Library. Be sure to insert “Grant Writing” in the Keyword Search, which will populate links to 10 modules (PPTs and associated recordings/videos) and a Grant Writing Workbook designed to guide you through each step of developing a proposal.

An informational webinar was held. You can view the recording here.
